José Antonio Tijerino is president and CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, which focuses on education, workforce, leadership, and culture while also serving as an executive producer on the Hispanic Heritage Awards at the Kennedy Center and broadcast on PBS. Tijerino serves on various boards in the DMV as well as nationally and has received numerous awards, including the Ohtli Award from Mexican Government, Lifetime Achievement Award by National PTA, MALDEF Award, among others. As a proud immigrant from Nicaragua, Tijerino co-founded The American Project; I’mmigrant campaign; #WeDreamAmerica Campaign; DREAM LEAD Institute for DACA recipients; Imagination Stage’s Oyeme! play about unaccompanied minors; and works extensively in support of refugee families on border.
